The Orrick School District is accepting applications for the position of Varsity Football Coach for the 2025-2026 School Year. Known certified teaching openings for the 25-26 school year are High School Social Studies, though other certified positions may become available. Position: Coach Reports to: HS Principal and Athletic Director
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 60 college hours, college degree or teaching certificate preferred
- Knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport to coach
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students & parents
- Certified in First Aid
Position Summary: Conducts practices, promotes good sportsmanship, motivates students, coaches, and keeps required documentation.
Essential Job Functions:
- Follow all MSHSAA guidelines.
- Follow rules and regulations as outlined in the OHS Athletic Handbook.
- Organize and direct individual and small group practice activities/exercises.
- Supervise athletes during practices and competitions.
- Distribute, collect, and inventory equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
- Participate in special activities related to the program, such as banquets and pep rallies.
- Perform support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data information, and other related records.
- Promote good sportsmanship.
- Report any issues with athletes or parents to an administrator immediately.
- Communicate with athletes and parents about the program’s expectations.
- Ensure student safety at all times.

Evaluated by: High School Principal with input from the Athletic Director in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy and the district’s model of evaluation. Terms of Employment: Stipend based on Board-approved Extra Duty Pay Schedule. Period of work dependent upon sports schedule. Benefits and leave time as defined in Board Policy. Must be a U.S. citizen and have passed all background checks conducted by the District.
Working Environment: Work is typically performed in and around a student learning environment and as such may be exposed to childhood diseases. May be required to balance and crouch, crawl, bend, or kneel. May be required to stand for prolonged periods. Occasional exposure to a variety of weather conditions may occur. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk or hear. May occasionally push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.
